This Week's News

Sunday 8am Holy Communion

The 8am Sunday service of Holy Communion returns this Sunday. You need not sign up in advance for this service, since we can easily accommodate our usual number within our Covid capacity limit. You should still wear a mask, and follow safety advice on arrival, just as at the 10am service.

Junior Church

We are really excited to be restarting some of our Sunday morning provision for children. Because of space and numbers we're having to think outside our usual activity. We will be having a "Junior Church" once a month for now, concurrent with our 10am Eucharist. The group will have age-appropriate activities, songs and stories in the Hall, joining the main service to receive Holy Communion or a blessing. The first one is on Sunday 13th June.

Find out more and sign up by clicking or tapping the link below.

Mid-Week Holy Communion Survey

Holy Communion mid-week will return soon. But as with so many things, the break in our usual practice caused by Covid-19 gives us the opportunity to re-assess what we're doing and why, and to discern what is best going forward. With this in mind, it would be helpful if you could give us some feedback regarding Holy Communion during the week, by completing the survey below. It will give us the most accurate results if you answer honestly for yourself, and not anticipate others' preferences.

Do you enjoy singing?

Hopefully it won’t be too long before we are able to sing all together as a congregation, but for the time being we will just have a small group of singers at the 10 am Eucharist. If you would like to join in the singing as we move forward, get in touch! You do not have to be able to read music and you may only be available occasionally but we would love to hear from you. Email Carole Lax > if you are interested

Whitley Bay Street Pastors

Please hold Whitley Bay Street Pastors in your thoughts and prayers as they return to their Ministry this Saturday, working with the Police, Ambulance and other partners in the night time economy at the coast to make our community safer. With many thanks, Ruth Blake

Congratulations

Many congratulations to Brother Harold Palmer who celebrates his 90th birthday this Sunday.

Face coverings

St Mary’s is open for public worship on Sundays at 10am but even with the new & less restrictive Covid rules from Monday 17th May we still need to sign up for a place if you wish to attend. Social distancing measures will still be in place and a face covering must still be worn, but a return to normality is ever closer.

Our Musician Search

Following our consultation and discernment process, we have begun our search for a permanent musician.

We are looking for a paid musician to lead us in music. As a church, we love to sing and play in our worship, and we need a special person to bring out the best in us all.

If you know anyone who would be interested, please share the advert, and/or this link:
