Skills Needed for St Mary's

For the efficient running of the church we are in need of a book keeper and PCC Secretary. If feel you would like to know more about either post or feel you may be able to help, please contact Nigel of Claire.

Art and Eco Fair

Eco Church/Art and Eco Fair.

As we progress through Creationtide, when our thoughts, prayers and actions turn to caring for creation, I would like to give a little information about our Art and Eco Fair, taking place in church this Saturday. It is a community event, bringing together local artists, makers, businesses and environmentalists, who have a passion for sustainability, combating climate change and caring for nature. Free to stallholders and those attending.

We are excited by the diversity of stalls, (28 in total) informing, exhibiting and selling. If you have queries about your recycling, come and ask the council. If you want information about encouraging nature in your garden, the people in the know will be here.  If you have wondered what our local refill shops are about, come and see. There will be so many beautiful goods on sale, maybe come prepared for some early present buying. Also, plenty to do and look at.

This event has been co-organised by Kate Taylor (Arts) and me. (Eco)

We hope to see you there.

Marion Oakes. (Eco rep)

Great North Run

Sunday 8th September is the 'Great North Run' and our Curate, Rev Claire Lewis will be running to raise money for NAPI, (North East Action for Children, Parents and Inclusion) a charity supporting children and families under 5 to provide access to appropriate quality services.
