Service Times Review

It has been over 20 years since the service times at St Mary’s have been reviewed, so the PCC have agreed to survey our congregations about their preferred service times.

Please complete the survey by following the link to an online form, or you will find paper copies in the vestibule.

Eco Tip for the Week

This Sunday on the C of E environmental calendar, is World Rivers Day.

Joining a river clean up helps to remove litter and reduce pollution that harms river ecosystems. By reducing single use plastics, avoiding pouring fats, oils, or wet wipes down drains, and supporting local conservation groups, these actions help protect our waterways. Anything in the rivers feeds into the sea. As a seaside parish we could join a local beach clean.

Harvest Festival

Sunday 5th October will be our Harvest Festival and we will be collecting for the Bay Food Bank. Donations of non-perishable food and toiletries can be left in the box in the vestibule anytime over the coming week, or brought along on the day.

A representative from the Food Bank will be with us at the 10am service to tell us more about their work.

Abby and Beth

We have been praying for Abby and Beth for a few weeks and they have had a tough journey. This week we were able to celebrate meeting Beth for the first time.

Abby would like to thank everyone at St Mary's for their thoughts and prayers.

Parish Administrator Vacancy

As Mike will be moving on in January, we are currently advertising for a part time Parish Administrator.

Anyone interested in the role should have a look at our website where there is full information and a downloadable application form.

OWLS

Following our summer break we will be meeting again on Friday 10 October.

I’m hoping we will have a speaker for the meeting but there will also be lots of news to share including details of our venue for the Christmas meal.

I look forward to seeing you all. Details are the same as usual, meeting at 12noon, £6.50 for a sandwich lunch. Please feel free to bring along a new friend, but if you do please sign them up on the sheet for lunch. The sign up sheet will be on the table in the vestibule from this coming Sunday. Do phone or text me if you have any queries.
