This Week's News
Covid update
You will be aware that current Covid- related restrictions in England are to change on Monday 19th July. This will have implications for our worship and other activities at St Mary's.
We are waiting for central Church of England guidance and at our PCC meeting this Wednesday, July 21st, we will be discussing this and how best to balance the need to reduce the risks of spreading the virus with our commitment to worship and welcome.
As we move into this next phase of our national response to the pandemic, we need to proceed in the spirit of the care we have shown one another throughout these last 18 months. As we have high infection rates locally this must also affect our discussions.
All decisions taken by the PCC will be communicated in the weekly notices and at all our services.
Contact Groups - Key Contacts
We’re hoping to have an in-person (plus coffee and cake!) meeting for all Key Contacts in September. This is to say thank you for all the work you’ve done in the last year and to discuss ways of working in the future. Please keep an eye out for further information. Clare
Gardening Help!
As you know we are going to redesign our gardens but until that goes ahead (soon we hope!) could you spare an hour or two to help on Saturday 17th July at 10am? The gardens are looking a little neglected. Please bring your own gloves and tools. Thank you, Cheryl
New Creation Book
Derek Burton’s second book, ‘NEW CREATION’ has a new design, more messages, more poems and many coloured images. It is available from numerous retailers and from Amazon UK at £11.99.
St Mary’s Autumn Fayre Update
The autumn fayre scheduled for Saturday 2nd October will take place as a virtual fayre online through the website. There will be virtual stalls, a virtual auction and raffle and so on. There could even be a cake and preserves stall! We're in the very early stages of planning so there will be more details soon.
