Eco Tip for the Week
Ensuring we have healthy soil in our outdoor spaces will create a biodiverse garden from the ground up. This is done by using organic, peat free compost, preferably by making our own, avoid too much digging and let the worms do the work. By making compost, we save energy on shop bought compost, plastic bags and transport costs and reduce greenhouse gases associated with plant and food waste going to landfill or incineration. Compost bins can be bought through the local council and delivered to you.

Sheilah Young RIP
The funeral of Sheilah Young will take place in Church on Friday 4 July at 2pm followed by cremation at Whitley Crematorium at 3pm. Afterwards refreshments will be served at the Comrades Club. If you are not intending to go to the Crematorium please make your way to the Comrades Club and the family look forward to seeing you there.
Max Ure RIP
Max's funeral will be Monday 23rd June 3.00pm at Whitley Bay Crematorium. All are welcome.
Holiday Club
Volunteers for Holiday Club
This year's Holiday Club will run from Tuesday 22nd to Thursday 24th July and we have already had lots of interest. We are now on the hunt for volunteers to help with catering, welcoming and administration, and running the activities. Speak to Nigel or Claire if you are willing to help.

Shirley Teasdale and Nicola would like to thank everyone who was able to join in the communion service at Eastbourne House on Tuesday and to stay for refreshments; also for the many lovely cards and gifts. It was a wonderful morning and a lovely birthday celebration.
Parish Lunch to celebrate Claire’s Ordination
On Sunday 29th June, after the 10am service, we will be having one of our amazing Parish Lunches to celebrate Claire being ordained the day before.
There is a Food list in the vestibule, and it would be greatly appreciated if you could add your name to an item of food that you can donate towards the lunch.

OWLS Annual Outing Friday 11th July
To Hexham Abbey for a Guided Tour and Afternoon Tea
If you would like to join us for this day out we will leave the church carpark by coach at 10.30am and return by 4.30pm.
The cost is £38 for coach, a guided tour of the Abbey and afternoon tea.
Even if you are not a regular member of OWLS you are most welcome to join us but places are limited so please sign up.

Church Windows Update
The funding thermometer has jumped up further thanks to the generosity of our community.
The figure now includes an estimate of GiftAid.
And we now have three grant applications in place.
The Monkseaton Morris Dancers celebrate their 75th anniversary this year and we’re hoping to help them celebrate this with a joint Ceilidh. We have a provisional date of Friday 26th September, so pop it in your diary.
Plus, our choir will be holding a concert on Saturday 26th July. Ticket information will be available very soon!
