Toast Church

Toast Church is our weekly children’s service. It runs after school on a Thursday. People are welcome to arrive anytime after 3.30pm for a drink and some toast as we gather after a busy school day. At 4pm we start our service of songs, prayers, story and an activity. Parents can stay if they wish or are welcome to drop off children and pick them up at 4.30pm. The service is designed for under 11’s but all are welcome.

Lent Course
Does God speak to us? Our lent course this year will be looking at this very subject. Join us on a Wednesday at 11.15am for food and discussion where we’ll be exploring the ways God has spoken to His people through the bible, and continues to speak to us. The course continues every Wednesday until 1st of April.
Windows Update
Final preparations for the replacement ground floor windows should take place during the week commencing 9th March.
The contractors will be checking measurements and ensuring there are no unforeseen problems. The areas immediately around the windows will need to be clear before then. David Tompkins will be emailing church members with specific responsibilities just to make sure they know what’s needed. Hopefully it won’t cause too much disruption and should only take a few days.
The actual replacement windows are due to be installed in late April. More information regarding the project including fund raising is on the notice board in the entrance lobby.
Children's Society
Please could box holders bring their boxes to the office for emptying during Lent. Alternatively, phone either us or the office to arrange for your box to be collected. Many thanks for your continued support - it is so valuable. Sue and Rick Channing.
OWLS
A message from Beryl.
Hello all, our next meeting is on Friday 13th March, meeting at 12noon for a sandwich and cake lunch and to talk about future events, we have been asked to take part in one of the Easter services, and so will need to plan for that. If regular members can remember that all are welcome, so you might like to bring along a friend, neighbour or someone who is visiting you.
Please just sign up by Sunday 8th March, on the sheet in the vestibule, so that I can order food on the Monday. If you are not able to be in church then either phone or text me on 07808 078894. I look forward to seeing you all on Friday 13th March.
Eco Tip of the Week
Take the next step for the Carbon Fast during Lent which this week is to refrain from binge buying. Adhere to the well known mantra, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Repair. Surprising and pleasing to see the Repair Café concept mentioned. This is our latest new eco project here at St. Mary's, coming to fruition in the summer. Thank you to all those who have expressed an interest to be involved.
