Eco Tip for the Week

Moving away from harmful, chemical cleaning products in the home, and in the church, can reduce our carbon footprint and create a healthier environment. Biodegradable products decompose into harmless substances which are not toxic to humans and wildlife. They don’t reduce indoor air quality or pollute water bodies and soil. Cleaning products (for ourselves, homes, and communal spaces) made from natural ingredients reduce the risks of respiratory issues, skin irritation and other health problems associated with chemical exposure. If shop bought biodegradable products seem a bit pricey, good old white vinegar, bicarb and lemon juice have been making a comeback.

Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.

This year, from Ascension Day to Pentecost, we will be using the 2025 Thy Kingdom Come Novena on the Lord's Prayer as a focus for our worship.

On Saturday 31st May we will combine with Whitley Lodge Baptists in a Walk of Prayer, starting at Whitley Lodge at 10.30am.

Alpha Course

Our Alpha Course is now underway, but all are still welcome to join us for the opportunity to explore some of the 'Big Questions' about life and faith.

Thursday evenings at 7.00pm in St Mary's Monkseaton. Each session will end with a light meal and refreshments.

Kneelers and Table Tennis Table

We are in the process of 'downsizing' the contents of the church and have the following items left. If you are interested or would like to reclaim, please contact Mike in the office by 6th June.

In the gathering space: Long kneelers from the lady chapel before re-ordering, Mothers Union Kneelers (All dedicated by individuals, names are on the back of the kneelers).

On the stage: table tennis table.

Parish Office

At the meeting last week, the PCC approved the extension of Mike Green's temporary contract as Parish Administrator until January 2026. Normal office opening hours will be Tuesday to Friday, 9.30am to midday.
