We recognise that the current season can be a tough time for those taking exams. The church is open 4-5pm Monday to Thursday for any young people who are currently sitting school exams, as a space to 'decompress and relax' with a drink (such as hot chocolate), and a chance to chat about anything but exams! This will run until Thursday 28 May. No need to book, no charge, just drop in and relax.

Eco Tip of the Week
What cuts our carbon footprint the most? Although recycling is good, avoiding one long-distance flight saves about ten times as much as a whole year’s recycling, whilst a cruise or short-haul flight not taken saves three times as much. Using a ‘green tariff’ for our domestic fuel also saves over five times as much as recycling.

The focus of the Christian Aid fundraising week this year is on providing support for mothers in Nairobi, Kenya, facing the devastating reality of urban poverty and the daily struggle to feed their children.
We have set up a fundraising page so that you can make a donation to Christian Aid online and we will be able to see exactly how much we have raised at St Mary’s. Making your donation online also enables us to boost your contribution by gift aid. You can use the QR code, or this weblink, to take you to the page:

If you prefer to make a donation in person, you will be able to do so in church through the card machine or in cash – there will be a Christian Aid collecting box at the back of church. All donations can be made anonymously.
We will also be holding a fundraising “Big Brekkie” for Christian Aid on Saturday 16th May between 9 and 11am. Come along for bacon (or veggie sausage) butties, sweet treats and hot drinks. Wake up your brain cells by taking part in our quiz or just enjoy a good chat with friends.
PCC
There will be a meeting of the Parochial Church Council on Wednesday 20 May 2026 at 7pm in Church.
Hospitality Thank You
At 3pm on Sunday 31 May we will be holding an afternoon tea as a thank you for all those who help in the kitchen and with our hospitality services. Tea and Cake will be provided. Please join us if you can. Many thanks, Nigel, Claire, Liz and John.
Hearing Aids
Just a reminder that we do have a fully functioning loop system in Church. If you have any problems please speak to John Appleby.
