Toast Church

Toast Church is our weekly children’s service. It runs after school on a Thursday. People are welcome to arrive anytime after 3.30pm for a drink and some toast as we gather after a busy school day. At 4pm we start our service of songs, prayers, story and an activity. Parents can stay if they wish or are welcome to drop off children and pick them up at 4.30pm. The service is designed for under 11’s but all are welcome.
Lent Reflections

Lent Course
Does God speak to us? Our lent course this year will be looking at this very subject. Join us on a Wednesday at 11.15am for food and discussion where we’ll be exploring the ways God has spoken to His people through the bible, and continues to speak to us. The course continues every Wednesday until 1st of April.
Children's Society
Please could box holders bring their boxes to the office for emptying during Lent. Alternatively, phone either us or the office to arrange for your box to be collected. Many thanks for your continued support - it is so valuable. Sue and Rick Channing.
Eco Tip of the Week
Continue the Carbon Fast during Lent. This helps us examine the excesses in our lives. This week we are fasting from food waste; plan ahead, shop carefully, check dates, repurpose leftovers, eat less or no meat and compost veg scraps, to prevent them going to landfill. Globally we throw away one third of all food produced every year and food waste contributes more to climate change than flying. Food waste is both a hunger and a climate issue. There is enough food on the planet, for none of us to go hungry, if we share and are not wasteful.

Mother's Union
Mother's Union will meet on Tuesday 17 March at 2.30 p.m. in Church.
Anyone for Table Tennis
A reminder that there is a table tennis group at St John's Church that meets on Mondays 3.30pm to 5.30pm. All are welcome, even if you haven't played in years. It's a very friendly and welcoming group. Thank you, Jane Walker.
