Older Wiser Living Spiritually (OWLS)
The next meeting of OWLS will be on Monday 19th October, at 12 noon. As it will be the first meeting led by the ministry team we will be discussing OWLS, what it means to you, what you like to do in the meetings (and what you don't).
Please sign up using the sheet in the foyer so we know the numbers for the food. If you can't get to church but are planning on coming please text me on 07904 639181 and I will add you to the list.
The cost is £6.50 payable on the day (cash or card).

Eco Church
In July, we held the first of our quarterly Repair Cafes, which was a great success. We are working in partnership with North Tyneside council, who are aiming to reduce and improve environmental issues within our area. St. Mary's is working on environmental issues within our own lives and our community. The aim of the repair café is to reduce our disposable culture and prevent repairable goods going into landfill or for incineration, adding to pollution and carbon emissions. In July, our amazing volunteers, looked at 80 items brought in. Most repairable, some items beyond help. The council kindly crunched the numbers for us, looking at info taken from the tracking forms:
313 Kgs. of waste was prevented
1,585 Kgs. Estimated CO2 emissions prevented
Our next quarterly event is in two weeks. Please see poster for details and we hope to see you there.
Marion Oakes. (Eco rep.)

Eco Tip of the Week
Be aware that most of what we do in our daily activities consumes energy, causes pollution, and leaves a carbon footprint. The larger the footprint the more impact we have on the environment. By reducing our carbon footprint, we can help heal the environment, stop wildlife extinction, reduce health risks and improve local economies. If at any time we think it's too big a problem and that none of our actions can make a difference, we can be assured, everything helps and we all need to keep working to reduce that carbon footprint.
All Souls’ Service - 1 November
On Sunday 1st November at 4pm we will hold our annual All Souls’ Service. At this service of worship and prayer we will be holding before God the names of those who have died over the last few years.
We will need volunteers to help with reading the names, and serving refreshments. If you can assist, please speak to Nigel, Claire or the Office.
Christmas Fair
Planning for St Mary's Christmas Fair is now underway and we are looking for prizes and volunteers for our stalls (tombola, raffle, bric a brac) and with serving refreshments. If anyone can donate prizes or your time on the day, please contact Andrew Potter andrewpotter@hotmail.com

St Mary's 100 Club 2026/27
The year rolls on and it is time once more to restart the 100 Club in October. Last year we raised just over £700 for church funds. Thank you to everyone who participated. It does help and is appreciated. Thanks too to Dorothy Clarke and Liz Hayes for making the monthly draw during Parish breakfast.
St Mary’s will be delighted if you will join or re join the scheme. For £25 a year you are entered into twelve monthly draws with the chance of winning £50, £30 and £20 or in December £100, £50 or £30. To save disappointment perhaps it is better to consider it a donation and enjoy the surprise if you win.
All you need to do is transfer £25 using online banking to:
St Marys 100 Club
Sort Code 20-62-09
Account No. 53160653
Alternatively, drop off a cheque made payable to St Marys 100 Club or even cash. Please post or deliver to church. (Should it be required the letter box is in the north door.) I would appreciate if existing members could send me an email or text confirming payment. If you are a new member, I will need your name and address. A contact email address or phone number would be useful too so that I can confirm receipt and deliver your winnings to your home!
With thanks,
Roger Windass
