Dedication Festival
On 9th May 1931 the Foundation stone of our church was laid by the Bishop of Newcastle. Next Sunday, 9th May, the Bishop is coming to preside over the Eucharist, celebrating exactly 90 years since the church was founded. Please make sure you sign up for this so we can manage numbers.
Suzanne's Confirmation
After a long wait, Suzanne Rider is being confirmed by Bishop Mark Bryant at St Paul's Whitley Bay this Sunday. Only a very few guests have been allowed to go in person, but the link to watch the service will be shared next week. Please keep Suzanne, and Robert and Judith in your prayers!
Thanks for your prayers
Many thanks for your prayers for my brother and his wife, Alan and Margaret Stears, in recent months. Alan was diagnosed with bowel cancer in October and after some anxious times when treatment was postponed, he has had chemotherapy and surgery. He now requires no further treatment, only monitoring and is doing well. David and I are looking forward to seeing them in person on May 17, which is also Alan’s birthday. Your prayerful concern for them both has been really appreciated. Thank You. Carole Lax
Christian Aid Week
There will be more about Christian Aid next week (CA Week starts on 10th May), but this is just a reminder that it is coming up. We will be having a mixture of traditional envelopes and online giving opportunities, so watch this space!

St Mary’s Grounds Redevelopment
Our church grounds are in a poor state of repair and we want to improve them for our congregation, our church hall users and for all those whom we wish to attract to events and services in our buildings. We have a new set of plans, and we are inviting you to have a look, and give us any feedback which can be made up until 7th May.
