Prayer for Peace

Whitley Bay Churches are joining together to pray for peace in Ukraine and around the world. This will take place on Tuesday 15th March from 7.30pm at Whitley Bay Baptist Church. All are welcome.

Disaster Emergency Committee Donations

In times of monumental suffering, the Red Cross joins with 15 other UK charities as part of the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC).

The current DEC appeal for Ukraine will help provide clean water, emergency shelter, food, health assistance, sanitation and hygiene, protection and trauma counselling to those affected.

If you wish to donate, SumUp are currently matching all donations.

Donations for Ukraine

Thank you to everyone who has brought donations of practical items to St Mary's this week for Ukranian families. Bryan and Grace are in contact with a Polish couple, Andrew and Agi, who are ensuring the transport of these donations to Poland.

If you would still like to donate, this collection remains open: please check the list below to see what items are acceptable and leave all donations in the designated collection box (next to Foodbank box in the foyer).

APCM Sunday 24th April

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) meets once a year and receives reports on changes to the electoral roll, general parish activities and financial matters. The APCM also elects new members to the PCC.

This year's APCM of the Parish of St Mary the Virgin, Monkseaton will be held at 11:15am on Sunday 24th April 2022, in church (after the 10am Eucharist).

Election to the Parochial Church Council

We are looking to recruit 4 new members to Parochial Church Council, the decision-making body within the life of the church.

The PCC plays an important role in the work and life of St Mary's, helping us maintain our presence in the community. Meetings take place 10 times each year, and are usually around 2 hours long. Paperwork is always circulated well in advance.

We would love to hear from you if you would like to be considered for election. Paper nomination forms are available from the notice board in the foyer, or alternatively, you can complete the online form below.

Any questions, please contact Liz Hayes or Grace Morgan.

Update your details | Data Consent | Parish Directory

Thank you to everyone who has returned their Data Consent form this week, allowing us to update our records in line with UK law on data protection.

For those who want to be included in our new Parish Directory (the address book of our worshipping community), this form will also allow you to 'opt in' to this, should you wish to (though please note no information will be included without permission).

If you are yet to do so, please take a couple of minutes to complete this important form. You can click the button below, or collect a hard copy from the church office.

Anna Chaplain Celebration
