About

Anna Dias is a soprano based in the North-East of England. She completed her undergraduate studies at Newcastle University studying music under the tutorship of Miranda Wright, achieving a first class degree and is now working at Barnard Castle School as a teacher of music whilst studying for her PGCE with the University of Birmingham.

Whilst at Newcastle, Anna was greatly involved in musical opportunities. She has sung with the Newcastle University Chamber Choir and conducted the choir in her second year. She was also cast as the role of Dido in Newcastle University’s production of Dido and Aeneas.

Anna has also had recent solo engagements, including Handel’s Dixit Dominus and The Messiah. As a member of the prestigious Samling Academy, Anna has participated in masterclasses and performed as a soloist in their annual concerts at the Sage in Gateshead. She is looking forward to joining Bishopwearmouth Choral Society again this Christmas.

For the past six years, Anna has been a member of the National Youth Choir and National Youth Chamber Choir and has performed at the BBC Proms and Carols at the Royal Albert Hall where she was chosen to sing the infamous Once in Royal solo in 2018 and 2019.

The repertoire this afternoon holds no theme but is merely a showcase of fantastic music and Anna would like to take this opportunity to thank Boris, Lauren, Megan and Jamie for joining her in this recital.
