Concert Series 2022

Last Sunday we held a wonderful concert highlighting Fiona Gould’s Young Piano Players. Around 40 children and young people performed short pieces to a full audience of family and friends which was greatly enjoyed by all. This free concert with refreshments in the interval provided by our group members managed to raise the fantastic amount in donations of £370 for our church and also was a great outreach to the community. Many thanks to Fiona for masterminding the event and to everyone involved for helping or supporting us in any way. After the summer break the Concert Series will present Alison Rudd who will give an organ recital on Sunday 11th September at 3pm. Do watch out for this and news of further concerts in the autumn. Gardens

We are delighted that work has begun this week on the gardens. There is now no pedestrian access to cross the site, though there is still access to both the hall and church. Please take care while the work is ongoing, and refer to signage. Any questions, please speak to Cheryl Savage, or email the office.

OWLS Lunch 12pm Friday 15th July

Please sign up by Sunday 10th July if you wish to attend the next OWLS lunch. We would love you to join us for sandwiches, cake and an activity. Older, Wiser, Living Spiritually! £6 payable on the day. Best wishes, Beryl.

Church closed

Except for morning prayer, the Church will be closed on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st July. There will be no 10.30am service on Wednesday 20th.

Church office hours

On Friday 15th July, the church office will be open 12-3pm instead of normal office hours. We apologise for any inconvenience.

St Mary’s 100 Club 2022/23

St Mary's 100 Club currently has 59 subscribers, which is absolutely fantastic! However, even better would be 41 more, to bring our number up to a full 100. For just £25, you will be entered into twelve monthly draws with the chance of winning £50, £30 and £20 (in December, £100, £50 or £30). The club also makes a valuable contribution to church funds each year, covering vital costs such as the cleaning of the hall.

How can you join?

  • Transfer £25 using online banking to St Marys 100 Club (Sort Code 20-62-09 Account No. 53160653).

  • Alternatively, pay by cash or by cheque (payable to St Marys 100 Club). This can be posted or delivered to me at 61 Brierdene Crescent, Whitley Bay, NE26 4AD, or to church (should it be required the letter box is in the north door).

  • Pay by card at the church office during office hours, 9.30am - 12.30pm weekdays.

I would appreciate it if existing members could send me an email or text confirming payment. If you are a new member, I will need your name, address, and a contact email address or phone number so I can confirm receipt and deliver your winnings!

With thanks, Roger Windass
